Accessorize. February 21

Well, this day I thought I would choose some special items. The necklace is just a stretchy band with some beads on it. Doesn't sound too special? Well, my son used some of his money and went to a garage sale around the corner from our home. He brought me back this necklace. I couldn't believe how thoughtful that was. He said he knew how I loved jewelry. Awww. The watch is from my other son. He picked it out for me for Christmas one year because he thought I would love to wear it on our boat.

The earrings were a gift from my husband many years back, and the ring I made for myself. :) Awesome stuff

Oh, This combination turned out great. I chose my Brighton jewelry necklace, my silver band Anne Klein watch, 3 bangle bracelets with turquoise coloring, these are from my resale store. Other accessories are available via Shoplocket here on the blog.  Also, I found some small silver earrings in my drawer and I thought they matched pretty well.

Accessorized. February 15

Here is what I wore on February 15th. Love this Anne Klein watch that my Mom gave me, my usual gold earrings that I probably wear too much, and a brown and green beaded necklace that I made a while ago.

Check out my Etsy shop for some great jewelry at amazing prices.
I also have some other accessories in an online shop called shoplocket. Some of those items I didn't make.
I always wanted to have an accessory store well, I don't have a brick and mortar store so I opened an online accessory store.
I'm starting small but with your help I hope to grow.

Accessorize. February 12

On February 12 I wore my Anne Klein silver watch, a bracelet from my husband that has X's as the connectors. I also wore black flower style earrings; I have no idea where I got them from. And lastly, I wore a necklace that I did make with Swarovski pearls in light blue, purple, silver and glitter shades. I don't have any like it in the shop but I do have so many other really great things. Thanks for the support.

Here is the necklace below.

On this day I wore earrings that I love and probably wear too much. The new watch my mom picked up for me on vacation in Florida. and a pretty bracelet that was a gift from the boys and hubby. I believe it has a matching watch but I think the batter is dead. No necklace today because the neckline of the dress I wore didn't need anything. Nothing handmade today however, please check out my shop for some wonderful accessories. thanks

Accessorize. February 7

Keeping it simple. I was off of work today until I had to go into work to do the 11pm news. I wore my red Gossip watch from QVC, my handmade shamballa bracelet and simple silver hoop earrings that have little diamonds on the front. I didn't wear a necklace because It's been so cold around and I had on a large neck black sweater.

Accessorize. February 5

Here are the accessories that I wore on February 5. I wore a red watch from QVC. It was a  gift a while ago and the best part about it was that it came with 4 other watches.  A bracelet from Brighton jewelry. I bought it at a little shop called Skillmans in Chautauqua county. They have been there since 1908. I also had earrings from Lia Sophia and a handmade bracelet. You can find this one in my shop. :)

Look at that wrist.

Accessorize. February 1

I seem to have become obsessed with bracelets lately. I love layering them with my watches. I mix hand made bracelets with my special Italian leather bracelet from my brother and sister-in-law. I get great inspiration from this Nordstrom page.
It offers so many great examples of stacked arms I just love it.

As I was looking all over for my Go Red for Women pin today I realized how many accessories that I really have. I thought I should really try to wear more of an assortment from my collection. I love combining handmade with purchased items and scarves and I pretty much always wear earrings.

Today is February 1st and here are the accessories that I wore today.
I had to go to my son's school for a little while. I wore a watch from QVC, a bracelet that I made and is available here. I also had on a silver necklace that says Mom that the boys gave me as a gift, silver twist earrings from Lia Sophia and my Go Red for Women scarf.

TV Necklace Collection

I have been working on a new collection of beaded necklaces. I spotted these beads and decided that large chunky beaded necklaces really add something amazing to an outfit.

It is a challenge to make jewelry, photograph it, blog about it, put it up for sale, keep house, and work full time.  So many other bloggers must be in the same situation.  There are so many interesting blogs that I follow written by so many interesting people.  I definitely get inspiration from them and their dedication.

Here is an example of one of the necklaces on air.

I really like this collection they look great with so many different outfits and are great for work.  Please go to my shop and have a look. MyMichelleJewelry

Thanks for supporting my shop.  xo

First Craft/Yard Sale

In the previous post I stated that I was going to sign up for the largest yard sale.  I went back and forth with what to do and I decided to attend my first 'public' sale.  It really was with some reservation that I signed up for the World's Largest Yard Sale.  It was quite expensive and I figured that there would be so many other vendors/sellers there that it would be kind of slow.  And I was also wondering if it was going to attract the type of people that would be interested in purchasing jewelry or are they interested in buying things from junk piles and paying 25 cents.
Well, there certainly was a steady stream of customers passing by the table, and definitely some interesting characters.  I was also worried that I wasn't going to even make my investment back.  I did not make the initial investment but I did come very close.  I met a lot of very nice people and sold some great pieces.

Here is a photo of the set up that I came up with.  I think that it looked pretty attractive.  Please don't mind me in the picture I didn't smile:)

Here is a shot of the new banner that I had hanging in front of the table.  I really like it very much.

Back to School 2011

The kids finished their first week of the 2011-2012 school year.  One started 5th grade and the other started 3rd.  I miss them when they go to school at least for a little while. Then I go to the gym and shopping and bake without interruption and sometimes to the movies with friends.  Oh and go for lunch and get the house cleaned.. and I think, school is a great place for them. ♥
I am signing up for the worlds largest yard sale to sell some jewelry.  I will get my set up and take a few pictures and post them.

I am waiting for a table cloth.  I think that it is going to look amazing.  I have a black table cloth and hot pink fabric with tiny silver sparkle dots.  I am really happy with it so far.  Everything is almost in.. still waiting for clips to hang a sign.  Here it is all set up in my basement:)

I just hope that the yard sale is going to bring in some money.  Hubby just got laid off on Friday so I have to kick the jewelry sales in high gear for a while.  We will make it work.

God Bless ♥♥

Summer

It has been challenging over the summer to make new jewelry work full time and make the summer fun for the boys. Here are some of my new creations that are available at MyMichelleJewelry.etsy.com. They are all in limited supply. I particularly like the earrings in the first frame because a good friend of mine went with me to the bead show and helped me pick them out. She lives across the country and it was just hanging around and chatting while we shopped. I hope you like them too. (the pair on the right have sold)

Here is some of what we have been up to over the past couple of months. We were on our way home from Chautauqua lake and stopped at Lake Erie and collected some stones and tossed a few in the lake. We also made a trip to Toronto, Canada. We went to the top of the CN tower and took in a Blue Jays game.  We walked all over the city and we really felt like city folk. We loved the people walking all over the city with their ipods dangling from their ears.  I enjoyed it so much then I remembered that one day winter and snow would descend upon the city and make the walking very challenging and chilly.

We had been promising our little one that we would take him to the Toronto zoo for many years now and we finally did.  Our zoo in Buffalo certainly leaves a bit to be desired and the Toronto zoo was a trip worth taking.

I have been working on earrings lately and hope to have a little more time now that the little men are headed back to the classroom.

New Pendant Necklaces

It is tricky to work on jewlery during the summer with the kids home. We go places and I watch them swim for hours like now. We also spend as much time as we
at our house on Chautauqua Lake. So I actually have some new necklaces to show and sell very soon in my shop at etsy. They are lampwork glass pendants on cotton cord. They are very lovely and perfect for everyday.

Please check there soon.

Hope you like them.

Rings, Rings, Rings

I'm always on the lookout for beads that would make great rings. I have been to bead shows, I have been to bead stores around the area, I have surfed the Internet, all in search for beads to make some wonderful rings. Here are some of the rings that I have made. There is a wonderful selection of rings in my Etsy store.

All I need is wire, beads, a ring mandrel and the ring making begins. They are fun to make and fun to wear. I love when I'm wearing a ring and someone notices and really likes it. That makes me very happy.
