Florida Road Trip

Over my sons' Easter break we DROVE to Orlando, Florida from Buffalo, New York. Yes, that's right a very long road trip. We drove to Colombia. SC and stayed over night the drove the rest of the way to Orlando. It wasn't that bad of a drive. Total of about 21 hours. We ran into a lot of traffic around Jacksonville and Daytona.  We loved the trip and we loved Florida.

We had a wonderful time. We went to Universal Studios, Magic Kingdom, Islands of Adventure and Downtown Disney.

This the view from where we stayed.

3D Printing

I'm pretty sure the first time I saw something made with 3D printing was on Project Runway/Lifetime. Justin LeBlanc was a contestant and for his fashion week runway show he made some jewelry with a 3D printer. If you go HERE you can see some of his jewelry and clothing creations.

My son is learning to use a 3D printer in 8th grade tech class. Here is what he created.
A Lego. How great is that? He did such an amazing job I thought I would share.

PS. My nails look great. Love that color. :)

Baseball Season

My son has been playing baseball for 5 years. Over the 5 years he never really loved it. This season he seems so into it, which makes it so much fun for us to watch and listen to his game recap. I have missed some games over the years because I work nights and weekends. #workingmom :(
I do my best to run to the games and catch as many innings as I can.
Here's to a great season.
PLAY BALL!!!

I made him a baseball cake for his 8th birthday.

Reese's Mini Cup Brownies

It has been a while since I baked for work. I should have baked over the winter more. That is what winter is for, right? Baking to keep the house warm. Maybe I was too tired to bake after all of the snow shoveling this winter.

I found a recipe that I decided to try. A rich, chewy, chocolatey, peanut butter brownie. I baked a batch along with a batch of mint chocolate chip cookies, packed them up and

My mother was over when I was packing them up and she said, "Leave at least one here." I did. And I ended taking a couple of the left overs home too, my son Loved them. :)
took them into work.

Well, I guess they were a hit. :)
They only thing is that no matter how hard I thought I pressed the toppings into the mixture a lot of it ended up in the pan while I was cutting them. Although, I didn't hear any complaints. I would say this recipe was tested and was a huge success.

Ingredients
1 box brownie mix (I used family size 9x13)
2/3 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
2-4 Tbsp milk (to make it spreadable)
1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
6 Tbsp butter
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 cup Reese's mini's chopped

Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350F degrees
Make brownins as directed on the box, cool for at least 1 hour. (Until the bottom of the pan is cool to the touch)

With an electric mixer add together 2/3 cup butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar and milk. Beat until smooth.

In a microwave safe bowl combine chocolate chips and 6 Tablespoons of butter. Microwave in :30 intervals until the chocolate chips and butter are melted, stir until smooth. Let cool for about 10 mintues.

Spread the peanut butter mixture over the brownies.

Spread the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter.
Pour and press the chopped Reese's minis and the peanut butter chips over the top.
Refrigerate the pan until it is set.
Cut and serve.

Apple Pie Roll-ups, Review

Do you ever actually make/do things that you pin on Pinterest?
I have tried recipes, craft ideas, remodel help and decorating suggestions.
This is one recipe that I pinned a while ago. I can't remember the exact site I found it on. As you know I like to try different baking recipes and see how they come out.
For the most part I have really liked everything that I have tried from Pinterest. (I did have a donut fail that I think I found on Pinterest too.)

Anyway, this recipe is not going to get rave reviews. The apple roll-ups weren't challenging to make, just a little time consuming with cutting all of the apples.
The roll-ups tasted pretty good while they warm. When they cooled down they were just so crispy and hard no one in the family really cared for them. Sorry.
Recipe not provided for this one.

 They look so good.

Apples cut into small pieces.

Place the mixture in the wonton wrapper.

Wrap, I think probably some butter on top.  Bake

Looks Good :)

If you are interested in this type of recipe you could probably just look it up on Pinerest and give it a try.
